FAQ
Questions we get asked. Answers that are actually useful.
What size of business do you work with?
Businesses with 10 to 250 employees. Large enough to have operations worth optimising, small enough that a full-time AI hire does not make sense. Most of our clients are in the 20-100 employee range.
Do we need to understand AI before working with you?
No. That is the whole point. We handle the technical side. You provide the business context — what your team does, where the bottlenecks are, what success looks like. We translate that into AI solutions.
How long does an AI Starter audit take?
2 to 3 weeks from kick-off to delivery. We need about 4-6 hours of your time across that period for interviews and access to your systems. The rest is our work.
What happens if we are not ready for AI?
We tell you. The AI Starter audit is designed to answer exactly this question. If you are not ready, we explain what needs to change first and give you a realistic timeline. We do not sell services people do not need.
Do you build custom software?
We build AI solutions. Sometimes that involves custom software. More often it means configuring existing tools, building integrations between systems, and creating workflows. We use the simplest approach that solves the problem.
Can you fix an AI project that has already failed?
Yes. We have rescued several projects that other providers delivered badly or that were abandoned internally. We diagnose what went wrong, assess whether the approach was sound, and either fix or rebuild it.
What AI tools do you use?
It depends on the project. We are not tied to any single vendor. We use a mix of OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, and open-source models depending on what fits the use case, the budget, and the data sensitivity requirements.
How do you measure results?
In business terms: hours saved, costs reduced, revenue generated, customer satisfaction improved. We agree on the metrics before we start building and report on them monthly. If we cannot measure it, we question whether it is worth building.
What does a fractional AI team actually do?
Everything a full-time AI team would do, but on a part-time basis. Monitor and maintain your AI tools. Train new staff. Optimise performance. Build new implementations each quarter. Provide a strategic perspective on where AI should go next. All through a single named lead who knows your business.
How much does it cost?
AI Starter (audit and roadmap): £2,500 one-off. AI Build (implementation projects): £5,000 to £15,000 per project. AI Partner (ongoing fractional team): £1,500 to £3,500 per month. Full details on each service page.
